<p>In this episode Marley Majcher takes a deep dive into her book, <em>But Are You Making Any Money?</em>, where she reveals a fun yet effective way to start making money in any industry.</p>
<p>In her book Majcher provides a profit generating roadmap that stems from her many years as an entrepreneur as well as a financially unstable individual. The goal of the book is to help you create a financially stable income all while learning effective tips and tricks for growing a business, doubling the profit on your sales, and doing things more efficiently.</p>
<p>This book is perfect for entrepreneurs who are having a hard time turning over a suitable profit in their small business and need a systematic way to easily double their income.</p>

<p>I think my book is very different for a couple of reasons. One of them is that I am very focused on the small business owner who is already overwhelmed. My book is very practical, simple and very easy to read.</p>

<p>I want the reader to know that their whole life is revealed when you begin to track your time. What happens is when you track your time you start seeing the problem. From there you replace your highest level of time sucker with the most important item on your list.</p>
<h4>A Deep Dive Into The Book (10:57)</h4>
<p>Part One of the book is titled Get Your Barings which is made up of four chapters that elaborates on the foundation that we are all busy. Every time I would hear a response of someone being busy I wanted to know what the hell they are so busy doing. Because if everyone was truly that busy we would all be very productive and have our houses paid off, no car payments, and out of debt. So somewhere there is a disconnect between all this motion and not a return on our activity. From there I talk about getting your financial longitude and latitude in order and really drilling down on where you are and being honest. At the end of Part One I give you your way out and show you how to commit to a new way of thinking. </p>
<p>Part Two I get into the nitty-gritty and I walk you through setting up a system. I walk you through the basics of what cost of goods sold are and get into the specifics of what those are exactly. I walk you through the four kinds of expenses which are traditional cost of goods sold, time, things forgotten, and overhead. </p>
<p>Part Three is when you really start coming up with exactly how much it costs to serve your clients or produce your product and you do that by retroactively taking three of your past products and/or clients and practicing. </p>

<p>This book basically came out of the need to solve my own problems as a business owner. My core business is event planning and I currently run a company called The Party Goddess. <p>In her book Kline provides her formula in 3 practical steps that are centered around a sales approach designed to develop an effective, less obnoxious way of approaching customers for money. The goal of the book is to help you get fired up about selling, improve your prospecting skills, engage more effectively with customers, and how to close more deals.</p>
<p>This book is perfect for entrepreneurs that think of sales as the most distasteful part of doing business and need a less intrusive way of turning prospects into buyers. </p>

<p>I do a lot of speaking, I do a lot of teaching, and every single time I appear in front of an audience somebody comes up to me and says they have been in sales for 25 years, been a sales manager for 15 years, and what I just said is something that they have never heard or thought about before.</p>

<p>It would be the 3 step sleaze-free sales formula. Step one is to awaken your customer to the fact that they have a problem. Step two is to demonstrate that you are the best solution to their problem. And step three is to make it easy for them to begin to do business with you.</p>
<h4>A Deep Dive Into The Book (5:30)</h4>
<p>Sleazy selling is anytime you are trying sell somebody whatever it is you have to offer. The traditional way we think about selling is always sleazy because you’re trying to sell something and the person on the other end wants you not to. I teach people to spend your sales minutes looking for the reasons that this buyer shouldn’t buy your product. What this does is puts you and the prospective buyer on the same side of the fence.  You need to hold that persons hand through the closing process to get them comfortable in order to say yes and give you their hard earned cash. The book shows you how to do just that and breaks it down into the five key pieces of the sales process. I take you through how to approach all five steps so that you confidently, competently, and effectively move through those sales conversations at a rate that is much more successful for you and also feels good to your customers so not only do they buy from you but they send you referrals and repeat business.</p>

<h4>The Credibility/Inspiration Of The Author (0:35)</h4>
<p>I was born and raised in Chicago where I am still currently living. I have a cat and am a lakefront kind of person.</p>
<p>I was at a workshop about how to publish a book on Kindle and the guy teaching the workshop said that all you need is an hour of content and then you can transcribe that and turn it into a Kindle book. I had just got done selling a 10 week seminar course that I had sold for $1,000 and I was getting ready to do 10 weeks of training on marketing and productivity and I thought I could just transcribe it all. But as I got started I realized that two of the classes formed the basis of my whole philosophy toward sales so I went with just the two.</p>
