]]>In this episode Ray Higdon takes a deep dive into his book, Vibrational Money Immersion, where shares a network marketing guide to better help you make a living from home.
In his book Higdon provides a roadmap filled with practical advice, assignments, and principles that are designed to show you how to become the best network marketer in the field of multi-level marketing. The goal of this book is the help you train your brain to craft your own success, master the art of networking, enhance your sales skills, and overcome multiple obstacles that get in the way.
This book is perfect for entrepreneurs who want to be able to work from home and are interested in multi-level marketing, but want a better understanding of the principles.
Some of the different things about my book are that I am not speaking from theory. I’m speaking exactly how I went from dead broke personal foreclosure to earning over a million dollars, becoming the number one income earner, and having over 85% of an entire network marketing company in my team.
Originally this was a weekly audio course with seventeen chapters. My suggestion would be to go through the book once quickly and then look back to see which one of the chapters jumped out at you and go back through those particular chapters in more detail.
Stop looking at what you think you know and look at your results. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard someone tell me, oh I’ve heard that before, but they are dead broke. If you do not have the results in your life that you wish you had then this book can help you understand why you are where you are at and how to get to that next level.
This book is all about mindset. It’s based on the original book of Think and Grow Rich but added with original stories on exactly how and why you have the type of results in your life that you do. So if you’ve been wondering why you’ve been working really, really hard but don’t have a whole lot of results to show for it, this book reveals that. This book will tell you exactly, in so many different scenarios, how your thinking is dictating your results.
I dive deep and talk about my divorce, my child abuse as a kid. I talk about how I got into foreclosure and what exactly got me there but also what exactly got me out of it. And so this is a guide to improving your mindset. Yes, it’s targeted for network marketers but I’ve had people in real estate, insurance, and car sales, go through it and tell me that it really helped them out because mindset is the major factor in anything you do.

I was in corporate America and I didn’t feel like I was living my highest and best purpose and also spending more time with picture of my kids than the real thing. I would go to work when they were asleep and come home to them already in bed and that just wasn’t the life that I wanted to work toward. And so I went out on my own and started a real estate business that didn’t work out and in 2009 I found myself dead broke. It was then when I reinvented myself and have since built a multimillion a year coaching and training business. I also have a very successful blog and social media presence and because of all this my lifestyle is a lot different.
A lot of entrepreneurs attribute some of their successes from the content that’s contained within Think and Grow Rich. What I did was I took the public domain version of Think and Grow Rich and I kind of translated it not just to today’s world but also for the actual network marketer. I’ve been in network marketing for over five years and there are a lot of people that appreciate that translation of how this actually and directly applies to their profession.

]]>Peter Voogd has received a great deal of attention from a variety of outlets, due to his inspiring true story. Voogd was completely and totally broke, but did not allow his circumstances to define him. He set out on the path to riches and was able to go from being dead broke to having six figures within a mere six months. Peter Voogd was not content to sit back and rest on his laurels, so he wrote a book. The book, entitled 6 Months To 6 Figures became a bestseller.
The following are some of the most important lessons that every entrepreneur can learn from Peter Voogd and his book:
While most people would be inclined to give up when they are completely broke, Voogd did not let his situation bring him down. As a result, he was able to triumph under difficult circumstances. If nothing else, Voogd’s story should serve as inspiration to every would be entrepreneur out there. No matter what your current situation is or how many obstacles stand in your path, there is way to make all of your wildest dreams come true.

So many entrepreneurs fall into the trap of allowing themselves to be defeated before they have even had a chance to begin. Voogd did not. Since his story is no fairy tale and he provides realistic ways for his readers to achieve the same goals as he did, there is no reason why an entrepreneur should not be able to take some level of inspiration from it.
A regular complaint from the majority of entrepreneurs who are starting out is that there simply aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything done. Voogd knows this and his work is dedicated to showing entrepreneurs more efficient ways of doing things. He shows his readers how to get their bigger tasks accomplished in much less time, without taking any shortcuts that could potentially damage the quality of the work being produced.
His strategies are not sugarcoated for mass consumption and he did not rely on any sort of gimmicks to achieve his fortune. Voogd was able to make himself a millionaire several times over by the young age of 27, so his tactics are proven to work. His success is what gives him an immense amount of credibility in the entrepreneurial community.
A lesson that Voogd constantly preaches to his acolytes is the importance of selecting your inner circle wisely and knowing about the dangers of associating with the wrong kinds of people. There are certain people in your life who are just not as vital to your day to day survival as you may believe they are. There are some people in your life who do not matter and never will.
If you hang around with people who do not have goals and plans for their life, then you will end up in the same boat as them. On the other hand, if you spend your time around those who are driven and goal oriented, then you are able to soak up the lessons that their presence teaches you.
The term that Voogd uses to describe this phenomenon is “circle of influence”. In an ideal scenario, a person’s circle of influence would include several people that they can look up to, some true role models. While the term is bandied about too much in modern times, it is crucial for an entrepreneur to spend time around like minded people that they can gain valuable perspective from.
Voogd preaches the importance of being able to do more with less time and not being afraid to tell people no if what they are asking for will interfere with your ability to accomplish all of the necessary tasks for the day. Organizing your schedule is key and Voogd shows entrepreneurs how to organize their schedule in a manner that leads to maximum productivity.
Whereas some entrepreneurs believe that spending 80 hours a week working is the path to success, Voogd shows them how to work smarter and not harder. He realized that he was using 80 percent of his effort to accomplish 20 percent of his goals and made the needed changes so that he could flip those numbers to his benefit. He began to focus on the most important 20 percent of his daily activities, the ones that created 80 percent of his overall results.
Voogd speaks about confidence and why an entrepreneur needs to destroy their insecurity to move forward. In order to have the utmost confidence, an entrepreneur must have clarity. Clarity only comes to those who have done the proper amount of thinking and know what their goals are and what it will take for them to reach these goals.
An entrepreneur does not get anywhere unless they have a take charge attitude and believe in their own ability to make things happen. No one is going to come along and make things happen for you and this is a lesson that Voogd spends his time teaching to younger entrepreneurs who are struggling with uncertainty.
Talking about success is one thing, but having the guts that it takes to go out and actually pursue it in earnest is quite another. Obstacles are always going to be in your way, but a confident person knows that they have what it takes to overcome them.

As I have learned from the many wealthy authors we have interviewed, a much larger percentage of the rich are self-made than many are willing to believe. Generally, wealth is not just handed down from generation to generation, and every person who is rich did not get there because someone simply gave it to them. By following these 7 personal finance secrets of very wealthy people, you too can join the financial elite.
The typical way of thinking is for a person to trade in their valuable time for an income. By following the majority of society and using this method to make a living, you are trapping yourself at the bottom of the financial totem pole. Wealthy people do not allow themselves to fall into this lifestyle and do everything they can to break out of the cycle of trading 40 hours or more for a relative pittance.
A wealthy person earns their money by tapping into their creative mind or by discovering a consumer need that has yet to be adequately filled. To become wealthy, stop burning the midnight oil and breaking your back by working as many hours as possible. Work smarter, not harder.
People with wealth do not let themselves be boxed into one way of thinking. There are decisions in life that must be made rationally, others that need to be made logically and some that require a blend of both mindsets. Each form of thought has its rightful place and the wealthy know when it is time to tap into their logical thought and leave their emotions out of the equation.
Lower and middle class citizens tend to make decisions that are based entirely on emotion. By blending the two ways of thinking, a person can maximize their ability to make the correct decisions and improve their financial position.
Since ideas are how people acquire true wealth and great ideas are all around us every day, that means that money is infinite. Those who are not wealthy do not see money as something that is easy to acquire and hold onto. This mindset starts to become a self-fulfilling prophecy, which will keep you from reaching your true financial potential.
The reality is that there is more than enough money out there for everyone to live their dreams. It is as simple as realizing that money is generated by ideas, not hard work. While you can work hard for your money, those who are truly rich abandoned this idea a long time ago and you should too.
The wealthy view money as the freedom to do whatever they want to do, a passport to pursue their heart’s desires. Lower and middle class citizens begin to equate money with status and will purchase items to make themselves appear to be more rich than they really are. The wealthy do not waste their time with attempting to project an aura of riches.
If you are trying to build up your fortune so that you no longer have a boss and can live your life the way that you want to, this is the right mindset to have. If you are seeking riches so that you can purchase items that will show off your abundance, this is the mentality of the poor.
This means that you should live the way that you would if you were rich. This does not mean purchasing a Mercedes and a mansion, this means that you should expect to become rich. You are not going to win the lottery to earn your riches, so it behooves you to start structuring your life in a way that will allow you to make more.
By training yourself to expect large amounts of money, it will become much easier for you to make the sort of aggressive moves that it takes to become. Expecting to become rich means less trepidation when the time comes to take a major risk.
Those who have never acquired any wealth will bemoan the lack of family time that the wealthy have and try to tell you that it is impossible to live a balanced life. This notion is patently false and the wealthy are never forced to pick one way of life over the other.
Since they longer trade their money for time, it is much less challenging for them to balance their schedules. The wealthy generate their income by focusing on ideas, not by ignoring their families and friends.
The wealthy believe in continuing their education and they do not believe in the classroom environment. While the rich are often well educated, they do not confine themselves to traditional methods of learning. They are a hands on sort who train themselves on the job.
As the lower and middle classes allow themselves to fall under the spell of trashy entertainment, the wealthy seek knowledge and enlightenment wherever they can find it. They are intellectually curious and always seek new forms of mental stimulation.

As a teacher I am always thinking how everyone is a different type of learner so I made sure that if you read the book from beginning to end it totally builds on each other. But there might be sections of the book that don’t apply to you so you can skip over it and not feel like you skipped a major section.
I would want that to be to get started! To me that is the number one thing that keeps people from achieving anything in life.
The way the Live Richer Challenge works is this; I have broken down seven specific financial goals into five weeks. Week one is Money Mindset, week two is Budgeting and Savings, week three is Debt, week four is Credit, week five is Insurance and Investing, and then I add an extra day to talk about what Live Richer really means and how to take all of these lessons to live a richer life. You don’t have to know how anything works because the way the challenge works is that every day I give you one small easy financial task and collectively that task will help you accomplish that week’s goal. I really try to take away what keeps people from moving forward financially which is fear and shame. It’s a fun, easy read, I don’t try to talk over your head, I use basic language, and within 36 days you really can have a different money mindset, a budget that works, a savings plan where you are actually saving, a clear get-out-of-debt plan, a credit plan that will show you how to make your credit score jump like Jordan, and a basic investing plan. Even bigger than all of that, The Live Richer Day, talks about abundance and how to activate your more abundant life using all these things you learn as a tool. My name is Tiffany but I am much better known as The Budgetnista and I am a financial educator. I like to say that I am America’s favorite financial educator; at least I’m striving to be. Thought Are Things is not necessarily the truth and we come right out and say it. The reality is it’s thought backed by massive action that becomes things. If thoughts were things I’d be a pizza because I am starving and thinking about pizza. You got to think it, you got to feel it, but ultimately you got to do it.
You can literally open up any chapter and start fresh.
One of the greatest things that people did was to be very careful of the people they surrounded themselves with. And the thoughts that you put into your head are a direct proportion of the people you’re hanging out with. So it’s important to seek counsel and not people’s opinions. It’s important also to have many mentors in our life.
To write the book we sat down with amazing human beings and found out exactly how their thoughts dictated where they are today.
Thoughts backed by massive action become true reality. One of the big takeaways is about the subconscious mind where you have no control of what it is. One thing that kept popping up was fear – fear is one of the biggest driving things that hold us back and most of it is manmade fear. We spend 90% of our time worrying about 10% that really happens. And fear is a great mechanism and it files away emotional pain, regret, and embarrassment and that’s why if we fail at something we are reluctant to try it again. The subconscious mind pulls from that memory to keep us safe and away from experiencing that same outcome. Sometimes we have to trick that subconscious mind and the way that people do that is they put more positive on top of that negative. Sometimes thoughts are important but you also have to take necessary actions and course directions to make your dreams a reality. Successful people seek counsel and failures listen to opinion. And the difference is that opinion is based on ignorance, lack of knowledge and inexperience, and counsel is based on wisdom, knowledge, and mentorship. If we would spend our daily lives only seeking and listening to counsel and ignoring people’s opinions, that’s the day your life would change.

]]>In this episode MJ DeMarco reveals all his insights on his book, The Millionaire Fastlane, where he cracks the code to becoming wealthy and living the rich life.
In his book DeMarco provides you with an expressway to extraordinary wealth that will get you to financial freedom faster than any other guide out there. The goal of his book is to teach you why most entrepreneurs fail, the leading cause of being poor, why typical jobs will never make you rich, how the rich really get rich, and why the guru myth of “do what you love” will most likely keep you poor, not rich.
This book is perfect for entrepreneurs who are ready to leave the job market to pursue self-employment in order to gain financial freedom, be their own boss, and ultimately become very rich.
I think a lot of authors focus on one particular concept and that concept may be valid for 6 months or a couple of years and they’ll talk about this one concept the entire book. My book contains the entire roadmap. I’m not going to write a book unless I feel it can change somebodies life.
I am trying to paint a whole picture to where when someone puts it down they actually feel something has changed and they feel their odds of succeeding in entrepreneurship have doubled, tripled or quadrupled.
Be value driven to the masses. The phrase I use in my book is if you want to make millions you need to start impacting millions and do it with value.
The book is sliced into three different phases and those three phases are what I call the road maps to wealth, the sidewalk roadmap, the slow lane roadmap, and the fast lane roadmap. The front half of the book covers the sidewalk and the slow lane and these two roadmaps are more about what you shouldn’t be doing verses what you should be doing. This half covers why these strategies don’t work and it goes in depth with the mathematics behind it. I would say that 80% of the country falls into the mindset of the sidewalk roadmap which is a paycheck to paycheck mindset. It’s a consumer mindset where everything you earn goes to buying something and you don’t really save money. The interesting thing about the sidewalk roadmap is it doesn’t matter what you make and the common denominator there is what you earn is what you spend.
The slow lane mindset is what I call a frugal mindset. And this mindset is all about saving and trusting that the stock market will someday make you rich. In the end you’re trading time and pieces of your life in hopes to be free later.
The back half of the book goes into the leverage entrepreneurship aspect. Leverage entrepreneurship is best handled when it covers five main commandments which are your need, entry, control, scale, and time. It is the ability to get into a business that is product centered.

I started an internet company way back in the late 90’s. I founded it with about 900 bucks, no internet training, no computer science degree and I was able to sell it a couple years later during the internet boom. The company that bought the company folded and I was able to get it back at a fire sale price. I helped the company for another 6 to 7 years until I sold it again in 2007. During this time that I owned the company I was able to cash flow it six figures monthly profit and sold it to a multimillion dollar valuation. After selling the business in 2007 I went on a little semi-retirement hiatus and one of my goals was to write a book about all the trials and tribulations of entrepreneurship which was The Millionaire Fastlane.
I was leading a fantastic life of abundant wealth and when I reflected upon that it was all due to entrepreneurship and The Millionaire Fastlane is how to bring about that type of scenario.

Mine is different in that it’s presented based on my own life story.
You have to read part one from front to back. My readers tell me that once they start reading part one it’s sort of a page turner and they can’t put it down but you can dip in and out of part two.
I believe that entrepreneurs need to work on their business not just in their business.
Part one is autobiographical and it tells the story of me growing up in my hometown of Churchtown in North Cork in Ireland and my dream to renew my home place and how that turned me into a commercial entrepreneur. The book starts with an introduction and then there are seventeen chapters in part one. I talk about when I was born in 1954 to 1972 and I have some beautiful childhood memories of long summer days of harvesting the hay, milking the cows, and going to local village festivals. I give a little flavor of that in the beginning of the book and then I recall my first business failure as a 10 year old when my latest project failed to deliver. From 1972 to 1977 I write about leaving Churchtown and getting a job out of high school. I got married in 1979 and my two children were born in 1982 and 1988. During that period I could see that the village was not doing well and I wanted to do something about it. Seventeen years ago in 1997 I saw an article in the national paper about how the local pub had been closed and the inside of it had been shipped to Vienna to feed an Irish team. I was appalled by the idea and I realized it was time that I must do something and try to get my hometown renewed. At 43 years of age I made a dramatic decision and decided to give up my job and start working as a social entrepreneur and to lookout for non-executive directorship roles. So I set up the Churchtown Village Renewal Trust and then I bought some property in the village and I reopened the bar/restaurant pub. In 1999 I realized that I needed to build some houses in the village, creating some life, and I bought a field and got the planning permission for 77 properties. So my field of dreams worked and families decided to live in the village and the population grew from 70 to 600. After opening the pub and building the homes in the village I saw that the small shop came up for sale and realized that it was very important for the village and there needed to be a bigger one. The only way I could achieve that was if I bought it myself. So by accident I became a shop keeper but of course I wasn’t able to work in the shop on a day to day basis so it wasn’t making any money. Shortly after that another shop came up for sale locally and it had a filling station and I bought that to try and spread the overhead.
Part two of the book has 16 chapters. In this part we talk about the joy of business, the benefits of testing and dry runs, that implementation is the key, the need to be able to scale your idea and multiply it, and the idea that you need to solve a problem and find a solution to create a customer base. And then I talk about the business plan and how you might write that, what should be in it, and the marketing plan. We look at the importance of design and creating a brand. And I make a big point about recognizing failure fast and moving on if it’s not working.

I grew up on a farm in Ireland and I was born in 1954 so I am 60 this year. I got a job immediately after high school and I started working in a commercial bank called Bank of Ireland. I spent 17 year at Bank of Ireland then I left the bank and went to a savings called First National. In 1997 I took a big plunge and went out on my own as a social entrepreneur and by accident I became an accidental commercial entrepreneur.
There were three reasons why I wrote the book. The first reason was that I wanted to encourage others not to risk staying in an unfulfilling job and to consider creating their own employment. Secondly I really like books and I felt that I had learned a lot over the years and so I wanted to distill my own ideas and present them to others. I also wanted to tell the story of how I renewed my hometown in Ireland.

Once you read each chapter I want the reader to implement the concepts, read the chapter again, and implement until you see results. Once you see results in your life and business then you can go to the next chapter.
You have to understand the power of focusing on mastery verses overload. Those who have more than three priorities really don’t have any. People are so overloaded with information and the second you become overwhelmed you seek distraction. The number one reason why most people don’t succeed is because they never have ever told themselves that now matters.
Since I already explained chapters one and two I will start with chapter three. Chapter three is the money mindset and what money really matters. So the big focus is getting in the right mindset to attract money and I go through eight very tactical strategies on how to make sure you’re maximizing your income in the most efficient, intentional, and effective way possible.
From there I go to the actual six steps to six figures and I do a broad spectrum on my story and how I came about. The first must is absolute clarity. When I was broke and struggling I realized I need to get clear on who I was, who I wasn’t, what my strengths were and what I wanted. It’s easy to make decisions when you determine what your values are so I realized that I hated being broke and I knew I didn’t want to settle for a normal job or work for someone else. In this part of the book I walk the read through a 90 day challenge where they pick their goals for the month and they figure out the most top 10 compelling reasons to hit those goals. I also talk about the power of reverse engineering. This is where you figure out your ideal six month outcome.
After you have absolute clarity, you got to increase your most important account which is your confidence account. Everybody has a confidence account inside them and based on that confidence account is what they’ve accomplished or haven’t accomplished. So I go through the biggest tactics and comprehensive tips on how to build your confidence. I talk about the biggest thing you can do to build your confidence is choose growth in the moment.
The third aspect I talk about is shifting your circle of influence. I walk the reader through an activity I learned at a Tony Robbins business mastery event that made the whole event worthwhile. And I give away hundreds of thousands of dollar information in here. I also give the reader an outline e-mail on what you can send to millionaires and billionaires to reach out to and get a response.
After you shift your confidence you then want to make sure that you have consistent energy and motivation. I go through energy tactics and how to maximize your energy and motivations. Those who don’t make time for exercise and energy will eventually have to make time for illness. I realized that no matter how successful you are, if you don’t have energy, you have nothing.
Next is about peak performance secrets of the world’s greatest. I’ve studied peak performance for 10 years and I’ve put my best 10 tactics in this section on 10 game changing productivity strategies that you can use right away to really help your results.
The next chapter is crafting your perfect result rituals. And what I’ve realized is the amount of stress people have in their life is in direct correlation to the lack of systems or rituals they have in place. So I literally go through how to create rituals to make sure you have topnotch habits.
Lastly I talk about how to continually grow and how to make sure you’re becoming who you need to become to build a world class life. This is not just how to make six figures, it’s how to sustain it year after year and how to build a champion type world class life that is inspiring for others as well.

I am a serial entrepreneur and I have been running businesses since I was 15 when I started an eBay business. I wasn’t always the best student or involved in school but I really had a niche in entrepreneurship and business. I got into direct sales when I was 20-21 and I did that for a while when I worked my way up to being a district manager where I was running a sales team. I actually had some pretty big failures along the way and learned a lot of my successes from my failures. I was able to go from dead broke and stressed to earning my first six figure income and do it over and over going.
It really came from experience and me training close to 5,000 young professionals and seeing where our society was heading and being in school not learning anything that really helped me in the real world. I began to realize that this was needed at the highest level. I realized that I had to take it upon myself to create a blueprint that an entrepreneur or a young person can read and have 100% clarity on how to be successful in this challenging economy.
